US Presidential Election: The countdown for the presidential elections has started in America. Countries around the world will be keeping an eye on this election. There is a tough contest in the elections between Republican Party candidate Donald Trump and Democratic Party leader Kamala Harris. So, let us tell you important things related to the presidential elections taking place in America.
What is the timing of voting?

Why is voting held only on Tuesday?
In America, voting takes place every four years on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. If the first day of November is a Tuesday, elections are not held on this day. In America, when a law was made in 1845 to hold simultaneous elections in all the states, most of the people were engaged in farming. Farmers had free time in the early days of November, so the month of November was fixed for voting. Now it was the turn of voting day. Most people went to church to pray on Sunday, so Sunday was not chosen. Markets would be closed on Wednesday, hence the decision was taken not to hold elections on this day also. Ultimately Tuesday was chosen for the elections.
