US Presidential Election: Presidential elections are going to be held in America on November 5. There seems to be a close contest between the Democrats and Republicans in the elections. Leaders of both the parties are putting their full strength into the campaign. Meanwhile, voting is taking place extensively in pre-elections also. But, a situation of doubt has arisen after incidents of ballot box fire in many states. Incidents of fire in ballot drop boxes have been reported in the Portland area of Oregon state of America and Vancouver city of Washington. These ballot boxes were used for pre-elections, which were filled with votes. The boxes have been destroyed due to fire. Considering the seriousness of the incident, investigation was started.
The team reached the spot
Federal Bureau of Investigation spokesman Steve Berndt said federal authorities are investigating the incidents with the help of state and local police. Many videos are viral on social media, in which smoke can be seen coming out of many ballot boxes at the polling booth in Washington. Vancouver Police Department said that they received the news of fire in the ballot box on Monday after which the team reached the spot. Assistant Chief Amanda McMillan of the Portland Police Department said the cause of the ballot box fire has not been determined. Whether the fire was set intentionally or was an accident is being investigated.

'Direct attack on democracy'
Such information is also coming to light that a suspicious device was installed outside the ballot boxes that caught fire in Washington and Oregon. Washington's Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey said this is a direct attack on democracy. There was a fire suppression system installed in the box, but the suppression system of the ballot boxes in Vancouver that caught fire was not working properly. Because of this thousands of votes were destroyed.
