Dubai: The Israeli attack on Iran has caused huge losses to it. Satellite photos are also testifying to this. The Israeli attack on Iran's secret military base southeast of the capital, Tehran, which experts in the past have said was linked to Tehran's then-current nuclear weapons program, has reportedly caused significant damage. The attack also damaged another military base, which was linked to Iran's ballistic missile program. News agency Associated Press (AP) analyzed satellite images on Sunday, which showed that some of the damaged buildings were located in Iran's Parchin military base.
The International Atomic Energy Agency suspects that Iran has previously tested explosives associated with nuclear weapons there. Iran has long insisted that its nuclear program is peaceful. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Western intelligence agencies, and others say that Tehran was actively operating a weapons program by 2003. Other damage can be seen at the nearby Khojir military base, which analysts believe houses an underground tunnel system and a missile manufacturing site. Iran's military has not confirmed any damage caused by Israel's strikes in Khojir or Parchin on Saturday morning. However, it said the attack killed four Iranian soldiers serving in the country's air defense system.
Khamenei's statement also makes claims of loss to Iran true
Iran may have initially denied causing major losses, but its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei's statement on Sunday also indicated that the Israeli attack was not light. Iran's mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Israeli army also did not react. However, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told an audience on Sunday that the Israeli attack “should neither be exaggerated nor underestimated.”
Netanyahu said-Iran suffered a big loss
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the Israeli attacks “seriously damaged” Iran. It is still unclear how many sites were targeted in the Israeli strike. Iran's military has not yet released any photos of the damage. Iranian officials identified the affected areas as Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces. Burned fields can be seen in satellite images from Planet Labs PBC around Iran's Tange Bijar natural gas production Site in Ilam province on Saturday. However, it is not yet clear whether these pictures are related to the attack or not. Ilam Province is located in western Iran on the Iran–Iraq border. The most damage can be seen in photos from Planet Labs in Parchin, near the Mamalu Dam, about 40 kilometers southeast of downtown Tehran.
There, one structure was completely destroyed, while other structures could be seen damaged in the attack. In Khozir, about 20 kilometers from downtown Tehran, satellite images showed damage to at least two structures. Rafael Mariano Grossi, who leads the IAEA, said in a post on Twitter that “Iran's nuclear facilities have not been affected.” “Inspectors are safe and continuing their important work,” he said. I call for prudence and restraint in taking actions that could jeopardize the safety of nuclear and other radioactive materials. (AP)
