Deir al-Balah: The Israeli army has launched a devastating air attack on Gaza. In this air attack, 46 people died in Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours. Medical officials in Gaza said that an area of the territory, which Israel has declared a humanitarian zone, was also targeted. Of the 46 people who lost their lives in Gaza, 11 were present in a makeshift cafeteria in this area. In Lebanon, on Tuesday, fighter planes attacked the southern suburbs of Beirut and killed 33 people in other parts of the country.
The latest Israeli bombing comes as the US has said it will not reduce its military aid to Israel even after a deadline to send more humanitarian aid to Gaza has passed. Large explosions were heard in the southern suburbs of Lebanon's capital Beirut. This area is known as Dahiyah and Hezbollah is believed to have a presence here. Earlier, the Israeli army had issued a warning to evacuate 11 houses there. No immediate information was given on the number of casualties.
Hospital also attacked
Officials at Nasir Hospital in Gaza said at least 11 people, including two children, were killed in the attack on the cafeteria. An attack on a house in Gaza's northern city of Beit Hanoun on Tuesday killed 15 people, according to officials, including relatives of Al Jazeera journalist Hossam Shabat, who was reporting from the northern region. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, said that Mohammad Shabat, who worked as a doctor, his wife Dima and daughter Eliya died in the attack. Palestinian medical officials said 20 other people were killed in the attacks in central and southern Gaza. (Language)
