PM Narendra Modi Guyana Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created history by visiting Guyana for the first time as an Indian Prime Minister in 56 years. When PM Modi reached Georgetown on Wednesday, he was given a grand welcome by Guyana President Mohammed Irfan Ali, Prime Minister Mark Anthony Phillips and dozens of cabinet ministers. During his visit PM Modi participated in the second India-Caribbean Summit and met the leaders of the 15-member Caribbean Community (CARICOM). PM Narendra Modi and Guyana President Dr Irfan Ali held delegation level talks in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana.

India-Guyana relations milestone

During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Guyana President Dr. Irfan Ali witnessed the exchange of MoUs between India and Guyana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana after 56 years is an important milestone in our relations. I have a personal deep connection with Guyana. As an ordinary citizen, about 24 years ago, When I had the opportunity to come here, I saw a glimpse of how historic and deep India-Guyana relations are. It is a privilege for me to come here once again as Prime Minister.”

India will cooperate

PM Modi said, “In today's meeting we have identified several new areas to strengthen our cooperation. We will continue to make efforts to enhance our mutual trade and economic cooperation. Skills in line with the needs of the people of Guyana India has made a huge contribution to development and capacity building.” He said, “With the millet seeds given by India last year, we were able to contribute to increasing the food security of Guyana as well as the entire region. Similarly, we can also help in increasing the cultivation of rice milling, sugarcane, corn, soya and other crops.” Will cooperate.”
