Qassim has given three speeches since the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike. The first speech was recorded in Beirut, while the second and third speeches were given in Tehran. On October 15, Qasim warned Israel that Hezbollah would not stop its operations until a ceasefire was reached.
Who is Naeem Qasim?
Naim Qasim is one of the earliest members of Hezbollah. In the 1970s, he studied chemistry at the Lebanese University. Along with this, he also did religious studies under Islamic scholar Ayatollah Mohammad Hussain Fadlallah. From 1974 to 1988, Naeem Qasim served as head of the Association for Islamic Religious Education. Qasim kept an eye on Hezbollah's network of schools. In 1991 he was elected as the group's Deputy Secretary General. He is a member of Hezbollah's executive council called the Shura Council.
