After Laishram Kamalbabu Singh, a contractor supervisor at Leimakhong Military Station in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, went missing on November 25, his wife staged a protest near the barricades in front of security personnel on Saturday evening. Akoijam Ningol Laishram OOB Belrani, wife of Laishram Kamalbabu Singh (56 years), said, I will not leave from here until my husband is handed over to me.
What did Belrani, who was sitting on strike, say?
The protests started when Laishram went missing. Belrani told that Babu's phone was switched off since Monday afternoon, due to which his worry had increased further. “I tried to contact him on November 25, but his phone was switched off. I only heard today from Cachar that he has gone missing,” he said. Laishram was a resident of Cachar district of Assam. He was working in the military camp while staying at his brother's house in Laitang Khuno. Belrani said that the army should take the responsibility of finding her husband alive and safe.
