Gurugram: Thousands of people living in Gurugram, Haryana, adjacent to Delhi, may have to face water shortage on Friday. Due to repair work of master pipeline at Kadipur Chowk, water supply will be disrupted in various areas of Gurugram from 10 am to 10 pm on Friday. There will be a shutdown of Basai water plant and Sector 16 boosting station for 12 hours on Friday due to repair work by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), an official said. Water will be supplied only after the repair work.
Water supply will remain disrupted in these areas
According to an official statement issued by GMDA, water supply will be affected in many areas of the city including Village Basai, Kadipur, Sirhole, Chakarpur, Nathupur, Sikandarpur, Hans Enclave, Sectors 10A, 37, 34, 14, 16. 17, 18, 15 and DLF Phase 1 to 4, among other places, people may face water shortage.
Apart from this, there will also be no water supply in Cyber City and Udyog Vihar Phase-I, II, III, IV and V, South City-I, Sushant Lok-II and MG Road, Surya Vihar (Dundahera). Because of this, thousands of people can be affected. GMDA has advised citizens to store water and not waste it to avoid drought conditions.
Due to lack of water in these areas, people may have to face drinking water shortage. It is believed that water supply can be started smoothly only on Saturday morning. GMDA says that people should store water to avoid water shortage. If anyone has any problem, they can call the water board and ask for a water tanker.
