Solapur: In Markadwadi village of Malsiras assembly seat in Solapur district of Maharashtra, the villagers have announced to vote on ballot paper today. According to the information, voting has also started. People are also reaching the polling station. The villagers allege that in the assembly elections they had voted for NCP (Sharad Pawar) party candidate Uttamrao Shivdas Jankar, but in the assembly results, BJP candidate Ram Satpute got more votes at the polling booth of this village.
Villagers surprised by BJP getting more votes
In the total voting held at the polling booth of this village, Ram Satpute (BJP) got 1003 votes and Uttamrao Shivdas Jankar (NCP sp) got 843 votes. Uttam won the election from this seat but the villagers are surprised by the BJP candidate getting more votes in Markadwadi village. Because, in all the elections held since 2014, Uttam Jankar has always got the lead.
After the election results, the villagers had appealed to the local administration to conduct re-voting on ballot paper, which was rejected by the administration. After this, alleging malfunction in EVM, the villagers themselves organized a program of voting on ballot paper.
Despite warnings from the administration, the villagers are adamant on voting on ballot paper. Voting has not started yet due to opposition from the administration. Let us tell you that in the recently declared election results, Uttamrao Shivdas Jankar was declared the winner. Uttam had defeated BJP by 13147 votes.
