Moradabad: The results of UP by-elections have been declared. BJP and its allies won the elections on 7 out of 9 seats. The biggest victory out of this is that of Muslim dominated Kundarki. Here BJP has won by about 1.5 lakh votes. BJP candidate Ramveer Singh defeated Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Rizwan by 1 lakh 44 thousand 791 votes. The deposits of all the candidates including SP were confiscated. SP candidate Mohammad Rizwan got only 25580 votes while BJP candidate Ramveer Singh got more than one lakh 70 thousand votes. At third place is Chandrashekhar Azad's party Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) which got more than 14 thousand votes.
Thakur Ramveer Singh attacked SP
BJP candidate Thakur Ramveer Singh, who won from Kundarki, said that the PDA of SP chief Akhilesh is fake, we have installed the real PDA. The people here were neither Hindu nor Muslim, neither advanced nor backward. The people here were only humans. Voted on the basis of humanity and the image of our leaders.
BJP wins in Kudarki after 31 years
In the Kundarki by-election, BJP had fielded the only Hindu candidate among 11 Muslim contenders, while SP's Mohammad Rizwan, with nearly 40 years of political experience, was the choice of the India Bloc. Kundarki is considered the stronghold of SP, but BJP's breach in this fort has dealt a big blow to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Md. Rizwan first won from Kundarki in 2002 but lost to BSP's Akbar Hussain in 2007. However, they made a strong comeback with consecutive wins in 2012 and 2017.
