During this time he stopped a truck which was loaded with sacks of rice. But during this time the police noticed that there was movement in a sack. After this the police did a checking after which the police found pigeons in that sack. After action was taken in the case, all the pigeons were released into the forest.

Police arrested two people

Yesterday i.e. on 28th October the police was checking the naka. During this time, the police noticed movement in some sacks in a truck. On investigation, pigeons were found trapped in those sacks. Police found pigeons in about 6 sacks. The police then arrested two people for transporting the birds in a truck instead of in a vehicle meant for cattle, which was a violation of rules. According to the information received by the police, more than 100 pigeons were found in 6 sacks which were saved. Police further said that the accused persons were taking the birds from Karandighi in North Dinajpur district to Siliguri in Darjeeling district for sale. After catching them, the truck was brought to New Jalpaiguri police station and the forest department was also informed about the matter. Forest department officials caught the pigeons and released them into the forest.
