Telangana government is doing special work for the progress of women. This claim has been made by State Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said his government is moving ahead with a plan to make one crore members of women self-help groups (SHGs) 'crorepatis' by involving them in various business activities.
Free travel in buses and LPG cylinder for Rs 500
Speaking after inaugurating the 'Indira Mahila Shakti Bazaar' of women self-help groups along with Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday, Reddy said his government was implementing various schemes for the welfare of women. This includes free travel for them in government buses, supply of LPG cylinder at Rs 500, free electricity supply up to 200 units for the poor, stitching of clothes for students and 'Indira Mahila Shakti' canteen.

CM Reddy said the government is also allocating solar power plants to self-help groups. CM said that at present the total number of members in self-help groups is 65 lakh and it should be one crore.
It is my responsibility to make women millionaires- CM Reddy
Speaking at the event, CM Revanth Reddy said, 'It is your responsibility to make it one crore. It is my responsibility to make one crore (women) millionaires. Reddy said that next year he will visit 10 undivided districts (covering all 33 districts of the southern state) and hold meetings with one lakh women in each district. The Governor appreciated the women members of the Self Help Groups and said that he wishes that they become leaders in the country.
