At present, Anil Bhaidas Patil of NCP is the MLA from this seat.
Patils have dominated in Amalner
Amalner assembly seat is one of the 6 assembly seats under Jalgaon Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra. On this seat, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe voters together have the ability to decide victory or defeat. This seat has the highest number of Patils and this is the reason why Patils have dominated the electoral history here. There is a good number of Muslims on this seat and they can decide the difference between victory and defeat. Two-thirds of the voters of Amalner Assembly seat belong to rural areas. NCP has expressed confidence in Anil Bhaidas Patil this time too.
Independents won in 2009 and 2014
Talking about the electoral history of Amalner, the Congress candidate won from this seat in the assembly elections held from 1951 to 1972. At the same time, in the assembly elections of 1978 and 1980, the Janata Party candidate had won. In 1985, Congress once again won this seat, but in the 1990 elections, this seat went to Janata Dal. BJP had raised its flag on this seat in the assembly elections of 1995, 1999 and 2004. In the assembly elections of 2009 and 2014, independent candidates surprised everyone and won. In 2019, this seat was won by NCP's Anil Bhaidas Patil.
