Ranchi: Earthquake tremors were felt on Saturday morning in many surrounding districts including Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Earthquake tremors were felt in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi as well as in Jamshedpur, Chaibasa and Kharsawan. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 4.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was found 13 kilometers away from Kharsawan district of Jharkhand. It is being told that earthquake tremors were felt at 9:20 am on Saturday. As soon as the tremors of the earthquake were felt, people came out of their homes and there was panic among the people. However, there was no loss of life due to the earthquake. No casualties have been reported so far.
The intensity was 4.3 on the Richter scale.
Why do earthquakes occur?
In recent times, an increase in earthquake incidents is being seen in many areas of the country and the world. There are 7 tectonic plates within our earth. These plates keep rotating in their place continuously. However, sometimes there is conflict or friction. For this reason, earthquake incidents are seen on earth. Common life suffers the most due to this. Houses collapse due to earthquake, resulting in the death of thousands of people.

According to geologists, about 59 percent of the total land area of India is considered sensitive to earthquakes. Scientists have divided the earthquake zone in India into 4 parts i.e. Zone-2, Zone-3, Zone-4 and Zone-5. Areas in Zone-5 are considered the most sensitive, while Zone-2 is considered the least sensitive. Our country's capital Delhi falls in earthquake zone-4. Earthquakes of more than 7 intensity can also occur here, which can cause major devastation.
