An encounter took place between terrorists and security forces on Saturday in Sopore area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. On receiving information about the presence of terrorists, security forces launched a search operation and an encounter took place. The encounter between security forces and terrorists continues. Two terrorists are likely to be surrounded at the spot. One terrorist has reportedly been killed. However, this has not been officially confirmed. The body of the terrorist will be recovered after the encounter is over. After this the security forces can officially confirm it.
Kashmir division police said in a post on social media platform . During the search operation, firing took place.'' Police said details of the encounter were awaited.
Two terrorists were killed on Friday
Security forces are continuously carrying out search operations and continuous encounters are taking place in Sopore, Baramulla. There was a face-off between security forces and terrorists on Thursday also. Two terrorists were killed in this encounter. However, it has not yet been identified who the slain terrorists were and which group they were part of.
Terrorists killed two VGD members
Earlier, terrorists had killed two VGD members in Kishtwar. The two people who were murdered in Kishtwar were shepherds by profession. Like every day, he had gone to Munjala Dhar on Thursday to graze his cattle. But during this time he was murdered. The deceased have been identified as Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar. Both of them were residents of Ohli Kuntwara. Their family and local people became suspicious when both of them did not reach home after grazing the animals in the evening. Terrorist organization Kashmir Tigers has taken responsibility for this incident. He issued a statement saying that he committed this murder in the name of Islam and freedom of Kashmir.
