Chhath Puja 2024: The great festival Chhath is starting with Nahay Khay on 5th November. Chhath fast is considered very difficult, hence it is called a great festival. In this, women observe waterless fast for 36 hours. On the first day of Chhath Puja, Nahay Khay is celebrated in which women consume satvik food. Kharna has to be done on the second day. Jaggery kheer is made on this day. Then on the third day of Chhath, Arghya is offered to the setting sun, which is known as Sandhya Arghya. Usha Arghya is offered on the last day of Chhath Puja. On this day, Chhath fast is broken by offering Arghya to the rising sun. There are many things which are very important to be kept in mind during Chhath Puja. So if you are going to observe Chhath fast for the first time, then definitely keep these things in mind, otherwise your fast may get broken.
Women observing Chhath fast for the first time should follow these rules
1. Cleanliness
Great care has to be taken of purity in Chhath Puja. In such a situation, keep every place including the house, courtyard, temple and kitchen clean. During Chhath Puja, wear clean clothes every day after bathing etc. Keep in mind purity even while preparing material for worship.
