New Delhi: Now that only a few months are left in the Delhi Assembly, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a major setback. Senior party leader and former Delhi minister Sardar Harsharan Singh Balli along with his son joined BJP today. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Bally's old associates Subhash Arya and Subhash Sachdeva were also present when Bally and his son joined the BJP. Harsharan Singh Balli's son and young face of Aam Aadmi Party, Sardar Gurmeet Singh 'Rinku' Balli also joined BJP.
Four-time MLA
Let us tell you that Sardar Harsharan Singh Balli has been MLA from Hari Nagar seat of Delhi four times. He became MLA for the first time in 1993, after which he was elected MLA for the last time in 2013. Balli was also a minister in Madanlal Khurana's government. He held the responsibility of many departments including Industry, Labour, Jail, Language and Gurudwara Administration.
Joined AAP in 2020
Harsharan Singh Balli did not get BJP ticket in the 2013 assembly elections. Angered by this, he joined Congress and contested the assembly elections on Congress ticket. But he had to face defeat from the Aam Aadmi Party candidate. After this he again joined BJP. But in 2020 he joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal had included him in the party.
