The company first started charging platform fees in 2023 i.e. last year. Apart from Zomato, rival online food delivery platform Swiggy has also started charging platform fees since last year. Swiggy is currently charging users a platform fee of Rs 6.50 per order. Apart from the price of food, users now also have to pay platform fees along with GST, restaurant charges and delivery fees on every order, due to which ordering food online has now become very expensive.
