After Airtel and Jio, Vi (Vodafone Idea) is also going to launch its 5G service. The country's third largest telecom company has made preparations for this. Company CEO Akshay Mundra has recently said that Vi will launch phase wise 5G service in many cities of the country. Last year the company added 46,000 5G sites. This year its number will be increased to 56,000. Vodafone Idea launched 5G service on a small scale at the end of last year in 17 telecom circles of the country.

According to TelecomTalk, Vodafone-Idea CEO Akshay Mundra has said that we have increased the capacity of 5G to 56,000. Vodafone-Idea users will now start getting better coverage indoors also. We have used Indoor Coverage Plus technology for this. Vodafone-Idea has partnered with Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung for 5G network deployment. The company is going to add thousands of new sites by March 2025. The company claims that 100 new mobile towers are being installed every hour, so that users can get better coverage.

5G service

Talking about 5G, the CEO of Vodafone Idea has said that we are going to roll it out phasewise. The company will launch 5G service in all major cities of the country within the next two to three years. This will cost Rs 50 thousand to Rs 55 thousand crore. Apart from this, the company has recently introduced spam detection solution for its users. This AI solution will block fake calls and messages at the network level itself.

5G service started in these 17 places

Last year, Vodafone-Idea's 5G service was launched in 17 license areas of the country. Although, this is a very small-scale launch, but crores of users of the company are expected to get 5G service soon. Vodafone-Idea has launched 5G service based on mid 3.5GHz spectrum band in 17 telecom circles. This is the complete list-

  6. Telangana – Hyderabad (Aida Upal, Ranga Reddy)
  7. Gujarat- Ahmedabad (Near Divya Bhaskar, Corporate Road, Makarba, Prahlad Nagar)
  8. Maharashtra- Pune (Shivaji Nagar)
  9. UP East – Lucknow (Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar)
  10. Rajasthan – Jaipur (Near Galaxy Cinema, Mansarovar Industrial Area, RIICO)
  11. UP West – Agra (Near JP Hotel, Fatehabad Road)
  12. Bihar- Patna (Anishabad Golambar)
  13. Madhya Pradesh – Indore (Electronic Complex, Pardeshipura)
  14. Kerala- Thrikkakkada, Kakanad
