There is big news for Jio, Airtel, BSNL and Vi users. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India is going to implement the new rule from 10th December 2024 i.e. tomorrow. TRAI's new rule will be OTP Traceability. Implementation of this rule will be of great help in detecting spam messages coming on mobile phones. TRAI was initially going to implement this rule on December 1.
Jio, Airtel, BSNL and VI deadline ended
On the demand of telecom companies, TRAI had given 10 days time to service providers to implement OTP Traceability technology, which is now about to be completed. Let us tell you that earlier the deadline for this rule was fixed as 31st October but later it was extended till 30th November.
TRAI gave instructions to implement the technology
Due to lack of traceability system, OTP related or other commercial messages cannot be traced. Scammers and hackers take advantage of this to make people victims of fraud. Keeping this in mind, the telecom regulator has given instructions to implement the technology to trace the source of commercial messages sent in bulk from different service providers.
TRAI said this on OTP delay
After the implementation of TRAI's OTP Traceability rule, fake SMS and fake calls can be easily tracked. Earlier it was also being discussed that due to the implementation of the traceability rule, OTT messages for important purposes like banking may take time to be delivered (OTP delivery delays), but later it was clarified by TRAI. It was said that with the implementation of the new rules, OTP will be available without any delay.
After traceability is implemented, those messages which are not registered will be blocked. A big advantage of this will be that users will be able to easily identify promotional messages. According to TRAI, more than 27,000 major institutions have registered for this. Along with this, the speed of the registration process is also being accelerated. This rule of TRAI can bring a big change in the direction of secure and transparent communication.
Information- BSNL is not a flower but a fire, this plan of Jio-Airtel and Vi has caused huge loss!
