TikTok Ban: Donald Trump will take oath as the 47th President of America today i.e. on January 20. Even before taking oath, the newly elected President of America has given a big relief to the Chinese company ByteDance. TikTok was removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store yesterday. Under federal rules, parent company Byte Dance was to be banned considering the Chinese app a threat to national security. Under this rule, Google and Apple had removed the app from their platforms.

Donald Trump gave relief

During his presidential rally, Donald Trump gave relief to TikTik and said that we will give time to the company for ownership in America. After Trump's announcement, the Chinese social media platform was restored. On Saturday, January 19, TikTok stopped working for America's 170 million or 17 crore users. However, the app started working again with some basic services after the announcement made during Trump's presidential rally. However, the app is still not available for download in the US.

TikTok said thank you

TikTok said in its statement that the process of restoring the app has started with the consent of the service providers. Also, the Chinese company thanked Donald Trump and said that he has clearly assured the service providers that no penalty will be imposed on them. However, Trump said that he wants to have direct contact with the leaders of China before imposing tariffs on it. Recently, the Chinese Embassy in Washington had accused America of taking advantage of its rights and putting pressure on TikTok.

Trump had given relief earlier also

Even earlier in August 2020, Donald Trump had not banned TikTok. Despite Corona and the ongoing trade war between America and China, Trump had given relief to TikTok. During that time, the Chinese app was accused of sharing the data of American citizens with China. Trump had said that the youth on Tik-Tok had helped him a lot, due to which this app is very close to his heart. America's newly elected President Trump said that he wants America's stake in the joint venture of a Chinese company to be 50 percent. He has given this information on his social media platform Truth Social. Trump said that after being sworn in, he will give TikTok 90 days to avoid the ban.
