The 8th edition of IMC (India Mobile Congress) has started from today i.e. 15th October. In Asia's biggest tech event lasting four days, Jio Chairman Akash Ambani has placed two big demands before the government. Akash Ambani has advocated to PM Modi and Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for setting up a data center in India to store the data of AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence and Indian users.
Praise for better start-up ecosystem
Praising the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani said that today due to the better start-up ecosystem for Indian mobile companies, India has the ability to provide AI solutions to the world including developed countries. The government has played an important role in promoting industry and innovation, which has led to the biggest digital revolution in India. Businesses have completely changed in the New India, working in step with the government to meet the needs and expectations of 145 crore Indians.

Two demands placed before the government
From the platform of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024, the Chairman of Jio put forth his two demands before the government and said that India should be self-reliant regarding AI and work on data center policy in India itself for Indian users. In his suggestion to the government, Akash Ambani said that the scale and speed of data generation in India has increased rapidly and through AI it will increase even faster. Therefore there is a need to establish AI and machine learning data centers in India. Additionally, Ambani has also requested the government to update the Data Center Policy 2020.
On behalf of Jio, Akash Ambani has promised at the India Mobile Congress that the telecom company will not only be a leader in mobile innovation in India but will also embrace the power of AI for a connected intelligent future. This will lead to an increase in employment, as happened after the advent of computers and the Internet.
Airtel and Vi also emphasized on AI
In IMC, Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal and Vodafone-Idea Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla have also emphasized on AI. Referring to the AI spam call and message blocking technology recently launched by Airtel, Sunil Bharti Mittal said that the telecom operator is committed to providing secure communication to the users. At the same time, Kumar Mangalam Birla has also said that he will work shoulder to shoulder with the government regarding the use of AI.
