TRAI has issued a new warning for crores of users of Airtel, Jio, BSNL, Vodafone Idea. These days, cyber criminals are cheating people in new ways. The telecom regulator has issued a warning to users regarding incoming calls and messages for number verification. Many users have complained to the telecom regulator that they are getting calls and messages in the name of TRAI, in which it is being said that the number will be switched off. To keep the number active, users are being asked to re-verify it.

TRAI has asked its X handle to avoid such calls and messages. TRAI has said in its post that the telecom regulator never asks users for number verification or disconnection through message or call. Such messages or calls can be fraud. Report these immediately on the Sanchar Sathi Chakshu portal of the Government of India. If any fraud incident has happened to you, call 1930 immediately.

These days people are getting a message or call in the name of TRAI, in which it is being said that if you do not verify your mobile number then the number will be switched off. Verify the number with the help of the link given in the message or with the help of IVR given during the call. Such messages or calls are completely fake. If you also get such a message or call, do not fall into the trap and report it on the Chakshu portal of the Department of Telecommunications.

Telecom regulator and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) have taken several important steps to prevent cyber fraud. From October 1, the telecom regulator has issued new rules, in which fake marketing calls and messages will be blocked at the network level. Even after the implementation of the new rule, scammers are coming up with new tricks to defraud people. They are cheating them by luring them into some trap or the other.
