The government has issued a new warning for crores of smartphone users. Government agency Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has found many flaws in Android smartphones, due to which sensitive information of users can fall into the hands of hackers. CERT-In has detected several flaws in the arbitrary code of Android smartphones, due to which personal information of users can be leaked. Crores of users in the country use smartphones based on Android 12, Android 13, Android 14 and Android 15. The government agency has found new glitches in these Android versions.

Personal information of about 20 million or 2 crore users of the country can reach cyber criminals, which they can use to commit financial fraud and common users may have to suffer huge losses. The security agency said that this error has come due to Android's framework, system, Google Play system update, imagination, technology components, MediaTek components, Qualcomm components and other source components.

Cyber ​​criminals can take advantage

Most of the smartphone brands in the country use components from MediaTek or Qualcomm. In such a situation, smartphone users of brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, OnePlus, Realme, Motorola, Redmi, Poco are at greater risk. By taking advantage of these glitches, cyber criminals can break into users' devices.

CERT-In Warning

CERT-In has advised users to update their smartphones with the latest security patches. By doing this, no important information will be leaked from their device and they can avoid fraud.
