Cyber ​​criminals are adopting new methods to cheat people. Meanwhile, the government is also strictly enforcing the rules to curb the cases of cyber fraud. In this direction, the government has blocked 6.69 lakh SIM cards across the country.

On Wednesday, the government informed that 6.69 lakh SIM cards have been blocked till November 15, 2024, with the aim of preventing continuous cyber crime cases and controlling cyber criminals. Along with this, about 1,32,000 IMEI numbers were also blocked. This information was given by Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur in the Rajya Sabha.

The Union Minister said that along with enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies and judicial officers, the government is working rapidly towards curbing the rapidly increasing online fraud and other cyber crimes.

Agencies saved crores of rupees

The government said it helped people by saving more than Rs 3,431 crore by resolving 9.94 lakh complaints received on the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal. The Union Minister said that the government is currently working with telecom companies to stop fake calls. He said that calls which appear to be coming from India but are international calls are also being blocked.

Training being given through CyTrain

According to the Union Minister of State, to completely control cyber crimes, the Home Ministry has launched an online platform called CyTrain. It is a platform that teaches various skills related to cyber crime investigation and forensics to police and judicial officers. According to the government, till now more than 98 thousand 698 police officers have been included in the training of CyTrain.
