The two-year long wait of Free Fire fans may end next year. Garena's battle royale game Free Fire can be relaunched in India. This game was banned in 2022 due to violation of IT Act 69A. After the ban, this game was removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. At the time of the ban, Free Fire had more than 1 crore active users in India. Garena was going to relaunch its battle royale game last year i.e. in 2023, but later its launch was postponed. Since then, Free Fire fans have been eagerly waiting for this battle royale game.
Teaser came in 2023
Free Fire will now be launched in India with the new name Free Fire India. In August 2023, the company released the teaser of the return of this game, in which it was confirmed that it will be launched with a new name. To relaunch this game, game developer Garena had partnered with former Indian cricket team captain and iconic player Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The reason why the relaunch of the game was postponed has not been revealed yet. According to industry experts, Garena did not complete the compliance to relaunch the game in India, due to which it was not given permission to launch.
Will be launched in 2025!
Garena has recently posted several job listings on LinkedIn, after which it is being speculated that this game will be relaunched in India next year i.e. in 2025. After the launch of this game, there will be an impact on BGMI i.e. Battlegrounds Mobile India. BGMI has got the direct benefit of Free Fire being banned. After the ban of this game, the users of BGMI increased significantly.
What's new in Free Fire India?
