Starlink's satellite waiting for the Internet is about to end in India soon. Alan Musk's company has been in queue to get a license to start its services in India for the last three years. Last year, the government had said to start satellite broadband services in India soon. In December, telecom regulators and other stakeholders were about to finalize the process of allocation of spectrum. However, no update has been received about it yet.
Starlink accepted the condition!
According to a report revealed, Allen Musk's company has accepted the government's condition to introduce satellite broadband services in India. Starlink is set to complete security and data storage complications for its satellite broadband service in India. Currently, Airtel and Jiospacefiber have received security complaints from the government. Soon, the government will complete spectrum allocation for satellite broadband. The government is going to do spectrum supernaturally to the service providers.
The latest report of Financial Express claimed that Starlink has accepted the terms of local data storage of DOT i.e. Telecommunications Department. The Department of Telecommunications had asked all the service providers to accept the condition of local data storage to obtain a license. Apart from Starlink, Amazon is also preparing to launch its Kuiper satellite broadband service in India.
Satellite broadband service will start soon
After Alan Musk's company Starlink accepted the government's condition, there will be an interesting match between satellite broadband service companies in India. Users will get superfast satellite broadband service without any wire. This will directly benefit to those remote areas of the country where mobile networks and optical fiber broadband service cannot be delivered. Internet service can be provided in those areas through satellite broadband.
Airtel, along with Onweeb, is preparing to provide satellite broadband service in India. At the same time, Jio has its own global mobile personal communication satellite (GMPCs). Both these telecom companies are already providing broadband service in India through wireless and optical fiber (offc).
