BSNL has once again done wonders. The government telecom company has added 3.6 million i.e. about 36 lakh new users between August and October 2024. The number of BSNL users has been continuously increasing since private telecom companies Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Idea made the tariffs expensive in July. At the same time, the users of private companies are decreasing. However, in October, many old users of Jio and Airtel are leaving BSNL and coming back. This has been revealed in a recent report.

BSNL added maximum number of users

According to data released by TRAI, BSNL has added the maximum number of 2.52 million users in August. At the same time, the company has added 0.38 million users in September and 0.76 million users in October. At the same time, all private companies including Airtel and Jio have lost more than 1 crore users. According to the report, the number of prepaid users of BSNL has increased from 88.41 million in July 2024 to 92.04 million in October 2024. At the same time, the number of postpaid users of the company has increased from 4.42 million to 4.48 million during this period.

BSNL is expanding its network across the country. The government telecom company will roll out 4G service across the country by June next year. For this, the company is installing 1 lakh new 4G mobile towers, out of which more than 62 thousand 4G towers have been installed. At the same time, the company is also preparing to upgrade the 5G network from April-May next year.

Private companies made expensive plans

In July, private companies had decided to increase their mobile tariffs to increase their ARPU i.e. Average Revenue Per User. Recharge plans of private companies had become expensive by up to Rs 600. However, BSNL has made it clear that the company is currently focusing on network expansion and improving the quality of service. In such a situation, the company will not make its mobile plans expensive in the near future. BSNL recharge plans are 30 to 40 percent cheaper than the plans of private companies and long validity is also being offered to the users.
