According to the report of CNBC Awaaz, the Department of Telecommunications has started making a blacklist to prevent cyber crime. The government is in a mood to take strict action in this matter. Let us tell you that according to the report, those who issue SIM cards in someone else's name or send fraudulent messages are no longer safe. The government will take strict action against them. Such users will be placed in the category of threatening cyber security.
Ban will be imposed for up to 3 years
By blacklisting such users, the SIM card will be blocked. Also, no connection will be issued in their name for 6 months to 3 years. Under the new rules, issuing a SIM card in someone else's name is a crime. Apart from this, sending fake messages has also been kept in the category of punishable offence.
SIM cards will not be issued
From 2025, the names of such users will be added to the blacklist and shared with all telecom operators, so that SIM cards are not issued in their names again. Under cyber security rules, the government has decided to create a Repository of Persons. After making the list of such users, a notice will be sent to them by the government, the reply to which will have to be given within 7 days.
In matters of public interest, the government can take action even without notice. In such a situation, a new SIM card will not be issued for 6 months to 3 years. The government had notified these rules related to cyber security in November this year. Many new provisions have been added to it, using which the government is preparing to take action.
