Shivam Mavi: Young fast bowler Shivam Mavi did not find any buyer in the IPL 2025 auction. While last season he was a part of Lucknow Super Giants, but due to injury he could not play a single match. Fitness has been a big problem in Mavi's short career. Now he has recovered from injury and returned to domestic cricket and has shown a strong performance for Uttar Pradesh. Mavi still believes that if any player gets injured during IPL 2025, he may get a chance. Shivam Mavi had a special conversation with India TV and he talked about important things about his career.
Fitness has been a big problem
Shivam Mavi said that I think the number (number 318) was in the auction. It becomes a bit difficult to get selected there. I have played for Team India, so I am a capped player. For this reason, he could have kept his base price at least Rs 75 lakh. This was on my mind because as a franchise you are always looking for local Indian players. But if you have already got selected players, then it can be difficult.
Shivam Mavi still hopes to play in IPL 2025
But I did not think that I would not be selected at all. I was hurt. After this he got injured again. Before the auction I talked to some franchisees. Fitness was a matter of concern for him. He told me to keep working hard. Now if someone gets injured, I am fully prepared to come back. I was hurt when I was not picked in the auction. Matches were taking place then. For this reason I thought that whatever opportunity I get in future, I will do it. I will perform well in it and give my best. I will try to do better for my team.
I focus on results: Shivam Mavi
Shivam Mavi said that I focus more on results. I focus on those things which are within my control. Negative thoughts come. To get out of that, there are matches going on, so I watch them. I spend time with friends. I have been in Bengaluru most of the time during rehabilitation. So I have kept myself busy and not allowed negative thoughts to enter my mind.
