Virat Kohli, the star batsman of the Indian team, has been struggling with poor form for a long time. He scored a century in the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, but after that his car derailed and he could score only 190 runs in five matches. The Indian team lost the Test series 1-3 against Australia. After this, the BCCI made it mandatory for players contracted by Central Contract to play in domestic cricket. Now Kohli will take part in the Ranji Trophy match against the railway from Delhi from 30 January. Now, before making a comeback in the Ranji Trophy after 12 years, he called former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar for help, no one was surprised.

Practice with Sanjar Bangar

Virat Kohli could not play in the back round of the Ranji Trophy due to the neck stretch. Meanwhile, however, he participated in a special practice session with Sanjay Bangar. In this practice session, Bangar was shown throwing down from a distance of 16 yards to Bangar. He made Kohli practice on a continuous ball. Kohli wanted to improve his game on the backfoot.

Bangar's batting coach had done well

On the tour of Australia, Virat Kohli lost his wicket on the balls going out of the off stump on most occasions. Now Sanjay Bangar's help has been taken to work on technical aspects. Which has been the batting coach of the Indian team for five important years. Bangar has a good understanding of Kohli's game. Kohli scored most of his 81 international centuries between 2014 and 2019 when the Bangar was part of the national team. After his term ended, Kohli has scored only two centuries in Test cricket in the last five years. Bangar's term ended after the ODI World Cup 2019 and Vikram Rathore was replaced as a batting coach.

Sanjar Bangar was praised

A BCCI official told PTI that after the ODI World Cup 2019, when Kohli's opinion was sought for the assistant staff, he had highly praised Sanjay Bangar. He had said that his technical advice benefited him in these years. After the end of his term in the Bangar National Team, the Royal Challengers joined the Bangalore team in the IPL where Kohli's talk gets a lot of attention. This makes it clear how much Kohli trusts him. Bangar has also played 12 Tests and 15 ODIs for the Indian team.
