Virat Kohli, the star batsman of the Indian team, has been struggling with poor form for a long time. Which has been the batting coach of the Indian team for five important years. Bangar has a good understanding of Kohli's game. Kohli scored most of his 81 international centuries between 2014 and 2019 when the Bangar was part of the national team. After his term ended, Kohli has scored only two centuries in Test cricket in the last five years. Bangar's term ended after the ODI World Cup 2019 and Vikram Rathore was replaced as a batting coach.
Sanjar Bangar was praised
A BCCI official told PTI that after the ODI World Cup 2019, when Kohli's opinion was sought for the assistant staff, he had highly praised Sanjay Bangar. He had said that his technical advice benefited him in these years. After the end of his term in the Bangar National Team, the Royal Challengers joined the Bangalore team in the IPL where Kohli's talk gets a lot of attention. This makes it clear how much Kohli trusts him. Bangar has also played 12 Tests and 15 ODIs for the Indian team.
