There is also a trend of making kheer on this day. Kheer is made in most houses on Amavasya. But on the day of Mauni Amavasya, you make jaggery and rice pudding and eat. This kheer not only looks delicious to eat, but the ancestors are also happy by offering it. Rice and jaggery pudding is nourishing the body and giving energy. It is more healthy than sugar pudding. You can make rice and jaggery pudding with this recipe.
How to make rice and jaggery pudding?
step 1- To make kheer, take about 1 cup of good quality rice. Boil 2-3 liters of milk to make kheer thick and tasty. Take 200 grams of jaggery to pour in kheer. Take about 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder, a little cashew, almonds and chironji. Take about 1 teaspoon of desi ghee.
Step 2- Wash the rice and soak it in water for a while. Put the milk in a pan to boil. When the milk comes to a boil, take out the soaked rice water and put it in the milk. Keep stirring the kheer continuously. Keep in mind that kheer should not stick to the bottom.
Step 3- Soak jaggery in a vessel in some water or milk. When the kheer cooks well and the milk remains about half, then add jaggery solution to it. Run the kheer continuously as soon as you add jaggery. Now add cardamom to kheer and cook. You can keep kheer thick or thin according to your own.
Step 4- When kheer is made, add all the finely chopped nuts. After adding dry fruits, cook 5 minutes more kheer. Now add 1 teaspoon of desi ghee and turn off the gas. Prepared delicious jaggery and rice pudding.
Step 5- If you want, you can also add desi khand or sugar or boora instead of jaggery in kheer. But in the cold, jaggery pudding looks more tasty to eat. You dedicate it to God in the form of enjoyment. Eat it yourself and feed the family members.
