Lakhs of people of North Bihar face the horrors of floods every year. Homes, families, animals, crops and dreams of many people are destroyed due to the force of water. These people have the courage to overcome the pain of flood and bring life back on track. Only the one who lives there can understand this pain and starts weaving life again after losing everything in the floods every year. If you also want to understand this pain, then you can understand it by visiting the exhibition of photographer Eklavya Prasad's visual narrative series titled 'Pictures of steadfast and sustainable communities of North Bihar'. This art exhibition is going to be held at the Art Gallery located on Lodhi Road, Delhi from 6 to 12 December from 11 am to 7 pm.

This art exhibition will be inaugurated by Sunita Narayan, Director General of Center for Science and Environment, on December 5 at 6 pm. During this inauguration, Dr. Krishna S., Member, National Disaster Management Authority, New Delhi. Vats will be the chief guest. This exhibition will showcase the untold perseverance of the communities of North Bihar. Who face the devastation of floods every year.

What will be special in the exhibition

Through this art exhibition, an attempt will be made to show and make people realize the complex dimensions of floods. Which will include different pictures ranging from different types of floods to rising river water. This exhibition will show the flood affected areas, the people living there, the difficulties in their lives and the life they live in temporary shelters. The exhibition will try to show how houses, farms and infrastructure all succumb to the force of rising water. People have been suffering this pain from generation to generation. Amidst these challenges a remarkable story of survival emerges, which will be shown in this art exhibition.

Who is Ekalavya Prasad?

Ekalavya Prasad is a social development professional photographer known for capturing and describing the complexities of rural landscapes and communities facing environmental adversity. He has been working for social development for the last 29 years. Through his photography, he is working to raise awareness among people and promote water insecurity, cleanliness in flood-affected areas and contextual climate resilience. In 2005, Eklavya started the work of providing water, food and essential items to the people stranded in the flood affected areas of Bihar and Jharkhand.
