Regarding an incident, Sujata tells that there was no harm in openly telling Bal Thackeray that he was fond of drinking beer and smoking cigars. He used to drink alcohol in public.
That was the era of 1995, when his party had won and in this regard, Dr. L.H. Hiranandani, father of Mumbai's biggest builder Niranjan Hiranandani, had organized a party. In this party, Bal Thackeray said that some arrangements should be made to soothe the throat.
