Lucknow: A fight has broken out over the bulldozer action on Noori Masjid in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh before December 13. The Masjid Committee says that the district administration has disregarded the court as the matter is still in the court. At the same time, the district administration says that the court had not stayed or stopped the bulldozer action, hence action was taken. The district administration is also being accused of ignoring the guidelines of the Supreme Court in which it was said that it is necessary to give notice 15 days before the bulldozer action. Come, let us know what both the sides are saying in their arguments.
What is the claim of the Mosque Committee?
The Mosque Committee claims that the Noori Mosque is about 180 years old. He says that the mosque was built in 1839. The mosque committee says that when the mosque was built, there was no road here but a forest, hence the talk of illegal construction is wrong. The committee also says that the mosque has been deliberately targeted because the advice to build a bypass to save it was given, but it was not considered. The Masjid Committee said that there was a hearing on this issue in Allahabad High Court on 13th December, hence the action against the Masjid is completely wrong.
What is the argument of the district administration?
At the same time, on the allegations of ignoring the guidelines of the Supreme Court, the district administration says that the notice was issued to the mosque only 45 days before the bulldozer action. The administration also said that the court had not put a stay on this matter, hence there is nothing wrong in the action. Let us tell you that a few weeks ago, the Supreme Court had issued guidelines regarding some bulldozer action and had said that action will be taken against the officer who violates them. In such a situation, Fatehpur district administration is being accused of violating the guidelines of the Supreme Court.
What were the guidelines of the Supreme Court?
The Supreme Court had clearly said in its guidelines that it is necessary to give notice 15 days before the bulldozer action. PWD says that it had given notice to the Mosque Committee 45 days ago, which means that the court order has not been disobeyed but it has been followed. Secondly, the Supreme Court had said that if any structure has been built encroaching on the road or drains, then the district administration can take action on it. According to the action of PWD, the road is being widened here too, hence the order of the Supreme Court is being followed here also.
