In the internet era, incidents like cyber fraud have increased a lot. During this time, a new trend of scam has come in the market. In fact, many cases of digital arrest are being seen these days. If sources of I4C, the cyber wing of the Home Ministry are to be believed, in the last 10 months alone, cyber criminals have extorted Rs 2140 crore from people through digital arrest. Scammers who make victims of digital arrest are committing fraud of more than Rs 214 crore every month. According to MHA's cyber wing I4C, these fraudsters pretend to be ED, CBI, Police and RBI officers and call people and withdraw money through digital arrest.

Cases of digital arrest are increasing

According to MHA's cyber wing I4C, most cases of digital arrest are happening from South East Asian countries like Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand. Cyber ​​slavery is also done from here. However, digital arrest centers remain in India also. About 20-40 percent of these cases are being seen from India also. The call centers set up in Chinese casinos in Cambodia are running rampant and are making people victims of digital arrest and cyber fraud.

What to do if you get digital arrest?

Let us tell you that the Cyber ​​Wing of the Home Ministry has come to know the total number of cases of digital arrest till October this year. According to the information, a total of 92,334 cases of digital arrest have been seen so far. In such a situation, it is advisable that if you get trapped in any situation like digital arrest or you have even the slightest inkling that the person sitting in front of you is trying to scare, threaten or blackmail you through online medium, then In case of emergency, immediately contact I4C, the cyber wing of the Home Ministry.
