Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is one of the well-known space agencies in the world. ISRO Chairman S Somnath has given a statement on Tuesday. He said, recently a study was conducted to find out whether the money invested in ISRO space agency has benefited the society or not. Actually S Somnath had reached Karnataka Residential Educational Institute Society KREIS. Here he gave this statement while interacting with the students. During this, regarding the study done on ISRO, he said that for every rupee spent on ISRO, the society has got back Rs 2.50.

S Somnath said – Cannot depend on government for funding

The dialogue session was organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. S Somnath said, 'The aim of ISRO is to serve the country, and not to join the fight for supremacy in the field of space. ISRO needs freedom to do whatever it wants to do. He said that independence can be achieved by creating an ecosystem for business opportunities in space technology. ISRO Chairman said that missions related to the Moon are very expensive. In such a situation, we cannot depend only on the government for funding ISRO.

S Somnath said- ISRO does a lot more

S. Somnath said that we have to create business opportunities for ISROs. If you want to continue this then you will have to prove the usefulness of ISRO. Otherwise, when we do something, the government will ask us to stop it. Regarding this, he said that ISRO does a lot more than just space work. Answering questions, he said that we issue advisories to fishermen. We also advise fishermen on where to find their fish. This enables fishermen to save a lot of diesel required for their boats.
