Multi-starrer films have been being made in Bollywood for many decades. Many stars are seen together in these films. Each character leaves a different impression. Amitabh Bachchan has also appeared in many such multi-starrer films. Such films are considered to be the simplest formula for success. It is said that the fan base of stars comes together to make a film successful. Soon 'Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Housefull 5' will bring a new story on this scale with many stars. These films also have the same hope that with the help of many stars, the film will make huge profits. Many films like 'Singham Again', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' and 'Stree 2' became hits on this formula. From 'Sholay', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' and 'Amar Akbar Anthony', many other films could also achieve similar success. These films are made on a very big budget. In such a situation, if it flops, the makers suffer a huge loss. Today we will talk about one such film which was made with 10 top stars and still could not become a hit. The audience did not reach theaters to watch this film.

Amitabh had rejected the film

The story of the film had strength, but still the film's earnings were a pittance. Amitabh Bachchan had rejected this film because their dates were not matching. However, despite all the failures, this film is counted among cult cinema. We are talking about BR Chopra's 'The Burning Train', made in the year 1980, which was directed by Ravi Chopra. This film had a huge cast of 10 actors like Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Vinod Khanna, Vinod Mehra, Hema Malini, Neetu Kapoor, Parveen Bobby, Danny, Ranjeet. Despite the star-studded lineup, the film turned out to be a major flop at the box office.

The film could not earn even half

Many famous faces like Naveen Nischal, Simi Garewal, Asha Sachdev, Nazir Hussain, Iftikhar, Jagdish Raj, Mac Mohan, Asrani, Keshto Mukherjee, Sudha Shivpuri and Yunus Parvez were also seen in this film. Even at that time, the cost of making this film was Rs 30 crore, but the film could earn only Rs 6 crore at the box office. After this, this film was quite successful on Doordarshan for many years. People still like to watch this film on sitcom and it continues to be shown on many channels. Due to the trust of TV, this film got cult classic status even if late and proved to be a juggernaut in the world of sitcoms. It is said that despite having so many stars, everyone was given adequate screen time.

The film was shot in the actual trail

Not only this, to make the story of this film look real, a real train was set on fire. Some action scenes of the film were shot on Rajdhani Express. The shooting took place in night shifts between 7 pm and 4 am at stations like Panvel and Baroda. On the other hand, a large part of the film was shot in Mumbai's Film City, where a special set was built. The film was also shot in Delhi to capture the scene of Rajdhani Express departing from Delhi station. Shooting this scene proved challenging as thousands of people had gathered to watch it. Additionally, 400 junior artists were hired for the film, further increasing its budget. This film was based on Hollywood's 'The Towering Inferno'.
