In an old interview, Neena Gupta had told that the journalist hid his identity, called himself a family relative and obtained Masaba's birth certificate from the hospital registrar. He said in the interview, 'He (Pritish) sent someone. I was living with my aunt, so my aunt went and submitted the application. He said come after a week, we will give you the birth certificate. So she went after a week and they said that one of your relatives had taken them. Coincidentally I knew someone who knew this guy, he found out and sent it to someone and then he wrote an article.
