4 years have passed since Irrfan Khan's death. The actor said goodbye to this world on April 29, 2020. January 06, 2025 is the 58th birth anniversary of veteran Hindi cinema actor Irrfan Khan. Late actor Irrfan Khan left his acting mark from Bollywood to Hollywood. He has worked with many superstars in the film industry. There are many great stars whom everyone loved to see on screen and even after their death, people are not able to forget them. One of those actors was Irrfan Khan, who was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2011.

Irfan was a cricketer turned actor

Irfan was born on 7 January 1967 in a Muslim Pathan family in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He wanted to become a cricketer and not an actor. Irrfan Khan had revealed this in an interview given to Pinkvilla, 'There was a time when I used to play cricket. I was selected for the CK Nayudu tournament. In that, 26 of my friends were selected who had to go to a camp, but I could not go due to lack of money and then I decided to leave cricket.

Made a mark not only in TV-Bollywood but also in Hollywood

He proved his acting prowess in films like 'The Warrior', 'Maqbool', 'Haasil', 'The Namesake', 'Rog'. He was also famous worldwide for the Hollywood films 'A Mighty Heart', 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'Life of Pi' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man'. He also worked in the TV world. He had acted in more than 30 films of Hindi cinema. Not only this, in 2011 he was honored with Padmashree by the Government of India. At the 60th National Film Awards 2012, Irrfan Khan was given the Best Actor Award for his performance in the film 'Paan Singh Tomar'. He was chosen Filmfare Best Actor for the film 'Hindi Medium' released in 2017. 'Angrezi Medium' released in 2020 was his last film released.

The actor had predicted death

Irrfan Khan's wife Sutapa had said that this is such a pain which is not easy to forget. He said, 'We are trying to stay positive. It's been a year, I still can't meet people and talk to them. I am better at writing than meeting people. He further said, 'I was in the hospital two-three days before his death and in his last moments he said, I am going to die, I told him it would not happen, he smiled again and went to sleep.'
