The public feud between Krishna Abhishek and his uncle Govinda started in 2016. The controversy started when Krishna made a joke on his show, which Govinda found offensive. The tension escalated after a tweet by Krishna's wife Kashmera Shah, which was considered to be aimed at Govinda, further escalated the tension. Over the years both parties expressed grievances through the media which deepened the rift. A reconciliation took place in 2024 when Govinda attended the wedding of his niece Aarti Singh, ending their seven-year estrangement.
Even Kashmira recently met Govinda in the hospital after he sustained a gunshot wound at home. While talking to the media after this accident, Govinda had said, 'I was about to leave for a show in Kolkata. It was around 5 in the morning. And at that time she fell and walked away.
