This film was the Hindi remake of Thalapathy Vijay's superhit 'Theri'. This South film could not show its success in Hindi, but last year in 2024, another film was released which was a remake of South superstar Surya's film. Taking the story from South and presenting it in Bollywood, this film did not get success in Hindi. Even this South remake Bollywood film could not recover its budget at the box office. Now the special thing is that this disaster film has been occupying the trending list on OTT for many days.

These flop films became hits on OTT

The film we are talking about. Her name is 'Sarfira'. It was released in theaters on July 12 last year. Akshay Kumar was seen in the lead role in this. 'Sarfira' was the Hindi remake of Suriya's 'Sorarai Pottru'. This film proved to be a flop in Bollywood, but is making waves on OTT. Apart from Akshay Kumar, stars like Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas were also seen in 'Sarafira'. This film was directed by Sudha Kongara and she also produced the original movie 'Sorarai Pottru'.

This movie was released on Disney Plus Hotstar on 11 October 2024 and has been occupying the trending list since then. This flop film of Akshay Kumar remains at number one in India's top 10 list. Akshay Kumar played the character of Veer Mhatre in the film who works in the Air Force. This film has got a rating of 7 out of 10 on IMDb. 'Sarafira' had earned Rs 33.91 crore worldwide which was much less than the budget. Apart from 'Sarfira', Akshay Kumar's 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan' and 'Khel Khel Mein' have also flopped in theatres.
