Sensex The market capitalization (m-Cap) of eight of the top-10 companies of India increased by a total of Rs 1,55,603.45 crore last week. HDFC Bank and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were the biggest gainers. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 1,536.8 points or 1.98 percent. At the same time, Nifty of National Stock Exchange rose 374.55 points or 1.59 percent. On Friday, the Sensex closed at 79,117.11, up 1,961.32 points or 2.54 percent. NSE Nifty also rose 557.35 points or 2.39 percent to 23,907.25.

Reliance Industries suffered loss

In the list of top 10 companies, the market valuations of Reliance Industries and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) declined. Market capitalization of other companies increased. The market valuation of HDFC Bank increased by Rs 40,392.91 crore to Rs 13,34,418.14 crore in the week under review. HDFC Bank benefited the most. TCS' market cap increased by Rs 36,036.15 crore to Rs 15,36,149.51 crore. The valuation of ICICI Bank rose by Rs 16,266.54 crore to Rs 9,01,866.22 crore and that of Infosys rose by Rs 16,189.33 crore to Rs 7,90,151.83 crore. The market capitalization of Hindustan Unilever increased by Rs 13,239.95 crore and stood at Rs 5,74,569.05 crore.

ITC gets profit of Rs 11,508 crore

ITC's market cap increased by Rs 11,508.91 crore to Rs 5,94,272.93 crore. Bharti Airtel's valuation rose by Rs 11,260.11 crore to Rs 8,94,068.84 crore and State Bank of India's (SBI) market cap rose by Rs 10,709.55 crore to Rs 7,28,293.62 crore.

LIC suffered a loss of Rs 11,954 crore

Contrary to this trend, the valuation of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) declined by Rs 11,954.24 crore to Rs 5,62,545.30 crore. The market capitalization of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 2,368.16 crore to Rs 17,13,130.75 crore. Reliance Industries remained at first position in the list of top 10 companies. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, State Bank of India, ITC, Hindustan Unilever and LIC respectively.
