American Just a few days ago, the court had issued an arrest warrant against Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani in the bribery case. Gautam Adani is accused of paying bribe to get a contract related to solar energy in America. Now a big update has come in this matter. The Indian government gave a big update on this matter on Friday and said that no request has been made by America yet. The Foreign Ministry said that the government has no role of any kind in the US action against Adani Group companies.
What did the Foreign Ministry spokesperson say in this matter
“This is a legal matter involving a private company, an individual and the US courts,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in an official statement. There are certain procedures and legal avenues in such a case and we are confident that they will be followed. The Government of India was not informed in advance about this matter. We have not even had any talks with the American government in this matter. Any request by a foreign government for service of a summons/arrest warrant is part of mutual legal assistance. Such requests are examined on merit. We have not received any request from the American side in this matter. This is a matter that pertains to private entities and the Government of India is not legally a part of it in any way at this time.”
Complete information will have to be given to initiate legal action
In such cases, any country has to provide complete information to the Home Ministry of India to initiate legal action against the accused. After which the Home Ministry of India can give orders to initiate action on the request of the officials of the concerned agency. Let us tell you that after the arrest warrant issued against Gautam Adani by the American court, there was a huge fall in the shares of Adani Group companies. However, now the shares of the group companies have started showing a rise once again.
