Cyber criminals keep adopting new methods to rob people. Hackers looted thousands of rupees from a woman's account while she was accessing the lounge at the airport. You will be shocked to know about this big cyber fraud that happened at Bengaluru Airport. This can happen to anyone, so you need to be cautious otherwise a 'carelessness was removed and an accident occurred' situation may occur.

What is the matter?

A woman named Bhargavi Mani has told about this fraud that happened to her at the airport on the social media platform Instagram. The woman has asked to avoid such scams through a video message on Instagram. A woman named Bhargavi told in her video that while accessing the lounge at Bengaluru International Airport, she was scammed of Rs 87,000 and she did not even know about it.

The woman said that she was not able to get a physical credit card to access the lounge at the airport, due to which she showed the photo of the credit card to an airport staff. The staff asked the woman to download an app through which a lounge pass would be generated. The woman trusted the airport staff and downloaded the app on her phone. However, the woman later changed her decision to use the lounge and went to the coffee shop there.

incoming call blocked

After some time the woman realized that no incoming call was coming on her number. He thought it might be due to a network problem. However, seeing the people present there using the phone, the woman felt that someone else was receiving the phone call instead of her. By the time the woman came to know about it, Rs 87,000 had been transferred from her credit card account through PhonePe.

The woman told that the app suggested by the airport staff contained malware, due to which scammers got access to her phone. Hackers were also accessing OTP i.e. One Time Password for transactions. After knowing this information, the woman reported cyber crime and requested the bank to block the credit card.

How to avoid fraud?

The biggest reason for this fraud committed by the woman is sharing the copy of her credit card with the airport staff. After this, downloading the fake app suggested by the staff on the phone is also a big reason. The staff made the woman download the fake app. Through the app, sensitive information about the woman's phone also reached the hackers. After this, the hackers diverted the calls and messages coming on the woman's smartphone and carried out this fraud. If you also want to avoid such frauds, then do not share your credit card, debit card etc. information, photos etc. with anyone and do not download any app recommended by anyone on your phone.
