A film being made on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra?

These pictures of Diljit could be from the biopic 'Punjab 95' of his upcoming film 'Jaswant Singh Khalra'. Punjab's human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra suddenly disappeared in 1995. After which till date there has been no news about him. His biopic was announced two years ago in 2023. In which Diljit Singh Dosanjh was cast in the lead role. Now looking at these pictures of Diljit, it is being speculated that these are pictures from the sets of this film. However, official information has not been given yet. But looking at these pictures, it seems that Diljit can announce his film soon. Hany Teheran is directing the film. Arjun Rampal and Jagjit Sandhu will be seen in lead roles along with Diljit Dosanjh in the film.

Who was Jaswant Singh Khalra?

Jaswant Singh Khalra was a brave human rights activist who exposed the alleged extrajudicial killings of thousands of Sikh youth during the insurgency in Punjab. Khalra, who came from a family of activists, led the investigation which revealed that the Punjab Police had abducted, murdered and cremated more than 25,000 Sikhs without maintaining any records. He also claimed that around 2,000 police officers were killed for refusing to cooperate with state functions. Khalra mysteriously disappeared in 1995 and was last seen in Amritsar. Nearly a decade later, six police officers were convicted of his murder after a lengthy CBI investigation.
