WORLD HINDI DAY: The theme of World Hindi Day 2025 has been kept as 'Global voice of unity and cultural pride'. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had organized the first World Hindi Conference in 1975, in which 122 representatives from 30 countries participated. This special occasion is also celebrated in a very special way in Hindi cinema. You must have heard the names of many such films which are based on famous Hindi novels. Nadiya Ke Paar (1982)
The film 'Nadiya Ke Paar' directed by Govind Monis is based on the novel Kohbar Ki Bet by writer Keshav Prasad Mishra. Sachin Pilgaonkar and Sadhna Singh were in lead roles in this film.
Pati Patni Aur Woh (1978)
This list also includes Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur starrer film 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' which was made from writer Kamleshwar's novel Pati, Patni Aur Woh.
Bombay Velvet (2015)
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film stars Ranveer Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar. This was taken from Gyan Prakash's novel Mumbai Fables.
Tamas (1988)
Om Puri and Deepa Sahi were seen together in the film 'Tamas' directed by Govind Nihalani. The film is based on Bhisham Sahni's 1975 Sahitya Akademi Award-winning book 'Tamas'.
Seventh Horse of the Sun (1992)
Rajit Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Amrish Puri were in the lead roles in the film 'Sooraj Ka Satvan Ghoda' directed by director Shyam Benegal. This film was adapted from Dharamveer Bharti's great novel Suraj Ka Satwan Ghoda.
The Chess Players (1977)
Satyajit Ray made a film named 'The Chess Players' based on the novel Shatranj Ke Khiladi written by Munshi Premchand. The film also starred Sanjeev Kumar and Shabana Azmi along with Amjad Khan and Saeed Jaffrey.
