On Wednesday, Indian writer, poet and filmmaker Pritish Nandy is no more. The filmmaker died at the age of 73. The cause of his death has not been revealed yet. But, many celebrities have expressed grief over the death of a favorite artist of the entertainment world. His close friends Anupam Kher and Suhail Seth took to social media to express their heartfelt condolences on the demise of Pritish Nandy. Pritish Nandy has produced many great films. Talking about his brilliant films, he produced brilliant films like 'Jhankar Beats', 'Kaante', 'Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi', 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects', 'Ugly Aur Pagli' and 'Chameli'.
Anupam Kher paid tribute
Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher shared a long note on the death of his 'support system' Pritish Nandy on his social media profile and paid tribute to him. Anupam Kher wrote- “Deeply saddened and shocked to know about the demise of Pritish Nandy, one of my dearest and closest friends! An amazing poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave and unique editor/journalist! He was my help.” He was a great source of system and strength.”
Anupam Kher further wrote
“My early days in Mumbai. We shared a lot of things. He was one of the most fearless people. I learned a lot of things from him. But there was that time when we were inseparable! I will never forget when he gave me the cover of Filmfare. But more importantly, he was the true definition of yaaron ka yaar, I will miss you and our time together.”

Writer and actor Sehul Seth took to his X profile to express his grief. In his tweet, he wrote- “Deeply saddened by the demise of my dear friend Pritish Nandy. We often used to make harmless (and humorous) jokes on Twitter. Travel well Pritish.”
List of awards received by Pritish Nandy
Pritish Nandy was not only a notable producer but also an award-winning writer. The late author received the Padma Shri (India's fourth highest civilian award) from the President of India in 1977. Also received Karmaveer Award (National Award for Social Justice and Civic Action) in 2008. Pritish Nandy was also awarded the International Humanitarian Award at the Genesis Awards in Hollywood in 2012. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh honored the late author with the Bangladesh Liberation War Award in 1971 and also received the United Nations Heritage Award in 2006.
