After the crushing defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, there is a fear of a split in the Mahavikas Aghadi. Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) may contest the upcoming municipal corporation and local body elections on its own. Uddhav Thackeray may soon take this decision to leave Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA).
What are MVA leaders saying?
Discussion has started on Shiv Sena (UBT) party leaving MVA. A leader of the Uddhav Thackeray faction has said that it is thinking of contesting the municipal elections separately. Shiv Sena can contest all elections on its own in future. State Congress President Nana Patole yesterday refused to speak on Shiv Sena Uddhav's stand, while Balasaheb Thorat and Vijay Wadettiwar said that all parties have the right to fight separately. For this, parties can change their stand.
Pressure on Uddhav to leave MVA
Shiv Sena (UBT) is preparing to contest the upcoming municipal corporation and local body elections on its own. Shiv Sena (UBT) workers as well as the candidates who lost the elections and those who won have also urged Uddhav Thackeray to leave Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) soon. However, Uddhav Thackeray has not taken any decision yet. Eknath Shinde and forty MLAs along with him have given a shock to Uddhav by rebelling due to forming the government with Congress, in such a situation, it remains to be seen what decision Uddhav takes.
What did Sanjay Raut say?
When Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut was asked whether Shiv Sena will contest the upcoming BMC elections alone or as part of the MVA? So he said- “Why are you people worried? Now the results of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections have come. We will see, we know what to do. MVA leaders are capable of taking decisions regarding BMC elections.”
