What did the Australian PM say?
Apart from this, an appeal has also been made to the parents of the children to make this rule effective. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has strongly supported this new law, saying that social media has become the biggest platform of mental stress for children. Not only this, it is also the easiest medium for cyber fraudsters.
The Australian PM has also held social media responsible for crimes against women. Since social media is banned for children, they will be able to focus on traditional sports and physical fitness. The government wants children to pay attention to indoor and outdoor sports.
Social media platforms have considered this law made for social media very strict. Also, it has been said that it is a vague and hastily brought law. However, it will take another 12 months for this law to be fully implemented.
